Amanda's Dance Center Overall Production Winners at I Love Dance Competiton

Congratulations to the ADC Elite Company on winning overall High Score Production for "Lullaby" choreographed by Amanda Bell and 3rd Overall Senior Group for "Serenade for Strings" choreographed by Deborah Coe. The dancers also won First Place for Footloose and Black and Gold!! Congratulations Dancers!!!!

Dance is... Recital 2010 Tickets on sale tomorrow!!!!

Recital Tickets
TICKETS: Seating for the ONE evening performance of Amanda’s Dance Center’s 14th Annual Revue will be reserved seating. The cost of tickets will be $12.00/Adults and $7.00/children 3-12years.
**Children under three- NOT requiring a seat- are free.

Tickets will go on sale on TUESDAY MAY 18th at 6:00 PM. You may follow the link below for online sales. To ensure that all families are able to purchase tickets to the show,there is a limit of 5 tickets per family from May 18th-23rd, after which additional tickets may be purchased.

We do ask that you purchase no more than 5 tickets per family the first week of sales, so that all of our families have a chance to get close seating. There will be a limited number of seats available for cash purchase at the studio & at the show for those who do not wish to order online with a credit card.

Sunday, May 23rd - ADC Elite Company Dancers will be performing at the I Love Dance Competition in Jacksonville, Florida! They will be performing Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Solos!

Easy steps to make a proper bun!!

1.Spray loose hair liberally with hair gel.


2.Using the paddle brush, brush hair into a ponytail in the middle of the head. Hold ponytail in place with one hand.


3.Use the boar bristle brush to smooth out any bumps in the ponytail. Hair should be smooth and slicked back! No bangs!

4.Fasten ponytail tightly in place with a thick hair elastic. Shake your head back and forth a few times to make sure the ponytail will stay in place.


5.Twirl free hair in one direction, forming a tight coil, and slowly wrap the coil around the base of the ponytail to begin forming the bun.


6.As you wrap, secure the coil to the base of the ponytail by sticking hair pins through the hair and the hair elastic, pinning along the outer-most edge of the coil until hair is in a cinnamon twist shape.


7.Use a hairnet to keep loose ends neat and tidy. Make sure it matches your hair color.


8.Spray the styled hair with another mist of hairspray and use hair pins to tuck in any stray pieces of hair.

(this years 3 yrs olds- any brand new 4's)

Wednesday (Ormond Beach)

5:45-6:30 Pre Dance 2/Primary 1

Ages 11 and up

**Starting July 13th through the 29th we will be holding classes for ages 11 and up!!
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30

The cost will be $99 for all of the classes or $20 per class!
Summer Dance Intensives
**Monday June 28th through Thursday July 1st and Monday July 5th through Thursday July 8th

Classes will go from 10:00 am-3:30 pm.

The dancers will have a 30 minute lunch break, so please bring a
healthy lunch and plenty of water!

The cost will be $125 per week
(Only $6.25 per class)
or $225 for both weeks.

If you would like to take classes the entire summer, the cost will be $315 for both intensives and the
Tuesday/Thursday classes.

Recital Countdown!

The recital is now 6 weeks away and everyone is busy practicing and trying on costumes. Picture Day is 4:30-6:30pm on May 18th at SD and May 19th at Ormond! Sign up at the desk beginning May 1! Proofs will be available for viewing the following week!

Here is Checklist for you and your dancer!

1. Have hair done in a slicked back bun! Hair gel, hair spray, bobby pins and a hairnet.
2. Have makeup done! Powder, brown natural eye shadow, blush, mascara and red lipstick. Bring your makeup with you to the show to touch up!
3. Extra tights! If your dancer only has pink tights, bring one extra pair, you never know if there could be a run. Dancers with pink, tan or more should bring an extra pair of each!
4. Dancer's costume or costumes.
5. Arrive 15 minutes early to call time.
6. Bring a coloring book, crayons, a book to read or your ipod! You will be sitting backstage for a long time!
7. Bring your recital music so you can practice back stage! :)
8. ALL of your dance shoes!
9. Wear your recital t-shirt over your first dance's costume to the show!
10. But most of all, SMILE...and have FUN!!!
